Watering restrictions in Las Vegas, NV
Authority: Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) / Las Vegas Valley Water District · Schedule type: seasonal · Reviewed 2026-08
The current rules
Every Southern Nevada address is assigned a mandatory watering group (A–F) that sets its allowed sprinkler days — look yours up with SNWA's address tool. The summer schedule (May 1–Aug 31) allows up to six days per week; spring and fall drop to about three; winter (Nov 1–Feb 28) allows just one assigned day per week. Sunday watering is banned valley-wide, year-round.
New sod or seed?
A temporary establishment exception for new sod or seed allows more frequent watering after notifying your water provider before planting — confirm the exact duration with your member utility (LVVWD, Henderson, North Las Vegas, or Boulder City).
Seasonal changes
The whole schedule is seasonal — frequency steps down from summer to spring/fall to winter.
Enforcement
Watering outside assigned days/times is water waste and can draw fees or citations; exact amounts are set by each member utility.
Never think about this again
Verdyn builds Las Vegas's allowed days and hours into every schedule it creates, layers live weather on top, and applies the new-turf establishment program when you set a planting date. Compliant and agronomically right, automatically.
